Adjunct Faculty

  The Reverend Warren Embree, has B.A. and B.S. degrees from the University of Nebraska; an M.A. in Classical Languages from the University of Nebraska, an M.Div. from the Theological Seminary of the Reformed Episcopal Church, and a Ph.D. in Literary Criticism from the University of Nebraska.

He was a Visiting Instructor in Classical Literature in Translation from 1978 to 1997 with the Classics Department and Division of Continuing Studies at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He has been an elder at St. John's Reformed Church, RCUS, Lincoln, Nebraska, where he is currently an Associate Pastor and was the Stated Clerk of the South Central Classis, RCUS. Previously he was pastor of Grace Reformed Church, RCUS, Hastings, Nebraska.

  The Reverend Hank Bowen, holds a B.S. degree from California State University, Northridge, CA. As the first student under the care of the Western Classis of the RCUS, he was also the first RCUS student to attend and graduate with a M. Div. degree from Mid America Reformed Seminary, Orange City, IA. While at seminary, he was instrumental in the RCUS Church plant of Trinity Reformed Church in Sioux Falls, S.D.  

He served as an Elder in Sacramento Covenant Reformed Church, CA. Prior to entering seminary, he was involved in the church plant of First Reformed Church in Yuba City. CA.  He was ordained and installed as the minister of Grace Reformed Church in Willows, California and Covenant Reformed Chapel in Chico, California. As a past Vice President of the California Republican Assembly, he introduced a Christian perspective into the political sphere.

He pastored St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church in Hamburg, Minnesota and assisted in the church plant of Redeemer Reformed Church in Golden Valley, Minnesota. He has served as chairman of the RCUS Home Missions Committee and a former president and clerk of the Covenant East Classis.

The Reverend George Syms, pastor, holds a B.Sc. from Miami Christian College and a M..Div. from The Theological Seminary of the Reformed Episcopal Church. 

He has served as pastor of Peace Reformed Church, RCUS, Upham and Kassel Reformed Church, RCUS, Lincoln Valley, North Dakota; Home Missionary at Sovereign Grace Reformed Church, RCUS, Hollywood, Florida; Minot Reformed Church, RCUS, Minot, North Dakota; Chalmers Memorial ARP Church, Charlotte, North Carolina; Salem Reformed Church, RCUS, Ashley, North Dakota and Hosmer Reformed Church, RCUS, Hosmer, South Dakota; Emmanuel Reformed Church, RCUS, Sutton, Nebraska: Northland Reformed Church, Kansas City, Missouri and served as a former president of South Central Classis of the RCUS.

He currently pastors Grace Reformed Church located in Mitchell, SD.

The Reverend Paul Treick, pastor, holds a B.A. degree from Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan and a M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Ordained to the ministry in the RCUS in 1970, he has served congregations in Ashley, North Dakota; Napoleon, Ohio, and currently Modesto, California. 

He has served on various committees in the RCUS; has been involved in foreign mission work for the Congo since 1984. Presently serves on the Radio Administration Committee of Reformed Faith and Life (French Speaking). He is a longtime Stated Clerk of the Synod of the RCUS and Editor of the Reformed Herald.  His writings include: Our God and His People in the Old Testament; and Faith of Our Fathers -- A Study of the Five Points of Calvinism.

The Reverend Vernon Pollema, pastor, holds a B.A. degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI (included two years of study at Dordt College located in Sioux Center, IA) and a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He was ordained into the ministry of the Reformed Church of the United States (RCUS) in Upham, ND in 1964.  Rev. Pollema pastored Peace and Kassel Reformed Churches located in Upham and Lincoln Valley, North Dakota; the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton, Nebraska; and St. John's Reformed Church of Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1987, he assumed his current pastorate at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Shafter, California.

He is the radio pastor of the weekly Grace & Truth Broadcast and for ten years served in a prison ministry for inmates of the Corcoran State Prison, Corcoran, California. Rev. Pollema is President of the Executive Committee of the RCUS having served in this capacity an accumulated 25 years beginning in 1979. He is also a frequent contributor to the Reformed Herald.
